This last weekend a few members of the Vivaldi development team met up with some nice people from Boston and went sea kayaking. We paddled from Hull to a small Island close by. When we left Hull, the sun was setting over the Boston skyline. The silhouette of the downtown Boston skyscrapers looked pretty amazing in the orange sky, unfortunately I didn’t snap a picture. When we started paddling from the shore it had gotten pretty dark so we put our headlights on and tried to stay as close together as possible. We had some trouble with big waves and strong current so we didn’t manage to get very far and decided to paddle to Peddocks Island and set up camp.
We grilled some hot dogs and warmed up by the campfire. We talked for a while and had a good time, it was a very nice evening. The morning after we woke up quite early, around 7-8 am and got some breakfast. The weather was great, we explored the Island for a bit and went for a swim on the beach.
We decided to paddle back when the tide was high, around 1pm. There was quite a bit of boat traffic so we had to watch out for speedboats an such. Hull was much closer to the Island than I had remembered from the night before when It was pitch black outside. It only took us a few minutes to get back to the beach on Hull peninsula. When we got back there we hung out for a while on the beach and enjoyed the sun and a couple of beers.
Thanks to everyone involved, I had a great time. We hope to do this again soon!
